Our Chief Executive, Professor Beverly Alimo-Metcalfe, has been at the forefront of leadership and management research and development for many years. Together with her co-researcher, Dr John Alban-Metcalfe, she conducted the world’s largest study of leadership behaviour, and the first gender- and ethnic-inclusive study of its kind. This research culminated in our model of Transformational Leadership which underpins all of our work.

This model is articulated in the 360-feedback tool – the Transformational Leadership Questionnaire (TLQ) - which has, unlike other leadership 360’s, proved that the dimensions of leadership assessed do have a significant impact on the motivation, job satisfaction, commitment, and levels of stress experienced by staff at work.

Real World Group was founded in 2001 by Professor Beverly Alimo-Metcalfe. Originally called Leadership Research & Development Limited, the company re-branded as Real World Group in late-2006.
